group pic3rd Annual ALS Charity Golf Classic
in Memory of Don Steffen

Sponsored by Avalon Men’s & Ladies’ Golf Associations

Avalon Landmark Golf Club, Lenoir City, TN
Saturday, June 16, 2012

Tee Times: 8 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.; lunch served at Noon. The purpose of the ALS Charity Golf Classic is to raise funds to help the ALS Association Tennessee Chapter find a cure for ALS (better known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Until they do, funds from the tournament also help provide vital services for patients in East Tennessee battling this devastating neuromuscular disease and help raise awareness about ALS.  This year’s tournament celebrity is Pat
Ryan, sports talk-show host and former NFL quarterback.

In 2011, through the generosity and support of corporate sponsors, golfers, donors and Silent Auction participants, the tournament raised $34,500, more than doubling the first year’s efforts! The tournament is in memory of Don Steffen, beloved friend and member of the Avalon Golf community, who lost his brave battle with ALS in October 2011.

Every 90 minutes one American dies of ALS, while another is stricken with the disease. It can strike anyone at anytime and robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe while the mind remains unaffected.  Help us find a cure!

The 2012 ALS Charity Golf Classic has 2 goals:
* Establish a ladies division with 12 lady foursomes
* Increase corporate participation
